A checklist of things to do before we arriveHelp Us Help You
Indoor and Outdoor Checklist
IIf your home’s foundation is in need of repair, it will already be a stressful time. Not to mention, it’s always a little uncomfortable to have people working in your home for extended periods of time.
Our primary goal at AAA Solid Foundation Repair is to expertly and properly fix the foundation of your home. In order to do that, it does take time. Unlike TV Home Improvement shows, it takes longer than 60 minutes to Fix/remodel a home.
Foundation repairs are quite extensive. With construction happening in the interior or exterior (or both) of your home.
In order to repair your home’s foundation, AAA Solid Foundation Repair crews will require access to your home.
There are a few things you can do to help us before our crews before they arrive.
Foundation repair involves the use of specific equipment. Including jackhammers, and concrete saws. As well as skid steers, trucks and other heavy equipment.
The use of this equipment will cause vibrations, noise and dust in and around your home.
AAA Solid Foundation Repair will take the time to protect your home where we can. Depending on the type of foundation repair, the repair may be completed from the interior or exterior of your home.
INDOOR CHECKLIST
Provide the shortest path to the basement.
This might be through a garage or front door. Our crews will protect flooring, door jams and corners.
Clear the path from the entrance to the basement.
This includes area rugs, potted plants, floor lamps, coat racks and any other items
If the repairs are happening during the winter months.
Consider moving all house plants away from the entrance as cold air can affect plants. Also, please shovel sidewalks or paths you will want our crews to use in your home
Clear the basement of whatever you can.
Depending on the scope of work, we may need access to all exterior walls and walls on the path in and out of the basement. Remove everything from the exterior walls. Framed pictures, shelving, etc.
Takedown items off shelves
Vibrations from tools and equipment may cause items on shelves or in cabinets to move or fall. This includes items in the basement, on the main floor and on any upper levels.
If larger or heavy items cannot be removed.
Consider moving them to the center of the room(s) and cover them with
plastic sheeting or tarps. Providing at least 6′ of space to the exterior walls for crews to work
Secure any pets in kennels or closed-door rooms.
.Our crew will be in and out several times during the day.
During construction, there will be dust from the demolition.
We will close off the entrance to the basement with plastic or work with the basement door closed. Any items left in the basement should also be covered with plastic. Especially electronic devices.
OUTDOOR CHECKLIST
Outdoor Furniture, Planters, Bikes and Toys
Move any outdoor furniture, potted plants and anything else light enough to move away from the home and away from access to the home from driveways, alleys and gates
Outdoor Walls
Removing any outdoor wall art that may fall from vibrations or be in the way during repairs
Vehicles
Consider parking any vehicles in the street or in front of a neighbour’s home
as this will be helpful for both interior and exterior work. We will have equipment, and large bins to try and get as close to the home as possible. Also, if the best way to access the basement is through a garage or carport, it would be beneficial to not park any vehicles in the garage while we are working at your home.
Driveways & Lawns
Driveways, patios and lawns will be protected when and if possible during
construction.
Fences
In the event that a fence (or section of the fence) will need to be removed to move in large equipment, we will use a snow fence or other means to close off the space of the removed fence.
NOTE
When quoting any exterior foundation repair. Our team will notify homeowners of any fixed items that will need attention.
Items such as:
- air conditioners
- decks
- sunrooms
- fences and
